Sam Deshpande
Sam Deshpande is an Executive Advisor to Valtruis. He brings over 30 years of experience in healthcare, consumer banking and management consulting. Most recently, he was the Chief Information Officer at Humana, leading the adoption of contemporary cloud, AI/GAI, digital and data technologies. He previously served as the Chief Risk Officer, successfully building a Risk Management organization. He was a member of the Humana Executive Management Team.
Before joining Humana, Sam worked at Capital One in senior executive roles, responsible for consumer lending business segments in Credit Cards, Auto Finance and Home Loans. He helped transform and grow the business segments, by driving digital and AI adoption across business functions.
Prior to Capital One, Sam worked as a strategy and management consultant for Accenture and Booz.Allen Hamilton, leading client engagements for Fortune 500 companies in technology, consumer, automotive and aerospace industries.
He serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), with a mission to promote investor protection, market integrity, and vibrant capital markets.
He earned an MBA, with high honors, from the University of Chicago, a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor’s degree, with honors, from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India.
